Yellow Creek Baptist Church sits in an unusual location in Owensboro. On one side of the church is one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Owensboro. On the other side of the church is one of the poorest.
The opportunities for ministry literally surround us. One of the ways that we reach out to the larger community each year is through our Fall Festival. This past Sunday evening, over 1,000 men, women, and children from the surrounding area descended on our church for food, games, and music. In the process, we told them a little about our church and began to build relationships with the people who attended.
Various ministries of the church set up information tables in the gym to meet and greet people as they came inside to eat.
We worked hard throughout the afternoon and evening, but everyone really did seem to enjoy themselves – YCBC’ers and community folk alike!
