“…and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Jesus, Acts 1:8, NIV)

We focus a lot of attention on those who leave everything behind to follow Jesus to the ends of the earth – and rightly so. But it is no less important to follow Jesus in “Jerusalem” – the place we live right now. That means that we are to be witnesses for Christ in Thruston and the rest of Owensboro. We are His light – both to the nations and to our city. We, the members of Yellow Creek Baptist Church, are responsible for making sure that the people we meet every day, the people who live around our homes and our church, know that Jesus loves them, died for them, and will come again someday. It is our responsibility.

Prayer focus – Today is the day! If you are serving today in Colony Estates, pray for the opportunities that you will have as you meet people and learn of their needs. If you cannot join us today, pray that God will give us opportunities to share the gospel. Pray specifically for Bruce Treon as he will share the Christmas story with those who gather. We already know that the harvest is plentiful. Ask the Lord of the harvest to shower us with abundance.

PS – As I post this, a lot of things are working against us today, including sickness among the workers and rain – a huge issue in a community that would probably arrive to our efforts on foot.  Please pray that God will have the victory in all things, and that we will see whatever harvest He brings as His good and pleasing will for us today.
